Friday night, my mom came into town to spend the night before departing for Ireland Saturday. With her she brought a book that she has just finished writing. I suspected that it would probably be a decent writing, but wasn't sure exactly what to expect. Turns out, my mom is an extremely talented writer! I am only about half way through, but I already feel like I have really gotten a chance to grasp a different perception of the death of my dad through this book. I can't wait until she is able to have it published so we can share it with others who have lost loved ones. She really is a huge inspiration!!!!

On another note, Saturday Daniel and I and another couple from our class at church went to the Celebrate Freedom Festival in Frisco. Seeing as how Daniel bought a great deal of advertising from KLTY, we got VIP passes! Everything was great until it started storming and they made everyone from outside come in to the building where we were. This building was not very big and went from holding about 150 people, to upwards of 500 or 600. They told us all we could not leave because it was too dangerous outside, but as soon as the security guard turned the other way, we all made a run for it! Such rebels, I know! Anyway, we ended our evening by going to see Get Smart, which was a very pleasant surprise. Very funny and I recommend it!

Blogging Virgin

Yay, we're blogging. And by we, I mean probably mostly me. Recently I have noticed that so many people are blogging and that it's such a great way to keep up with people and what is going on with them! So let's catch up. We'll start with catching up on life since marriage since this is our blog and not just mine.

August 13, 2005

So we got married and lived in College Station waiting for Daniel to graduate from A&M. Before he graduated he got a job lined up in Carrollton, TX, so we moved up here in May 2006. A year later we bought our first home!!!!!!! Here are some before and afters:

Of course we're still not done in the kitchen. It's a work in progress. The cabinets are done but there is still more to do on other things.
I'll post more of the rest of the house later.
In May of this year we ventured to Ireland to visit Mitch & Holly and the kids and had the most amazing time! The kids are getting so big.....ALL of them. Here are some pictures of our trip. http://www.flickr.com/photos/15186675@N04/sets/72157605052340272/
Last weekend we went to Abilene for Shae's 5th birthday. I can't believe she is five and I also can't believe how big Jakson is getting. He made it to the all-stars league in baseball and he is AWESOME!!! Well that pretty much brings us to today, and to be real honest it's been a slow day at work....hence the blog creating! Let's hope things get a bit more interesting.....in a good way!
